So one of the things we’re talking about today is scoliosis. Have you ever been told that you have a scoliosis or your child has a scoliosis and there’s nothing that can be done? Well, I want to let you know that as a spinal corrective doctor, we have ways of analyzing and detecting and sometimes correcting scoliosis. So a scoliosis is a curvature of the spine, the spine is supposed to be straight up and down in order for it to be strong in order for you to have good posture. And in order for the nervous system to be nice and relaxed and functioning properly. But when people have a scoliosis, the spine curves, it twists, and over time, it actually starts to curl forward, you start you might see some of those people that are kind of hunched forward like this. So what do we do? Well, every condition is unique and different. Every patient in our office is unique and different. So we always start with a thorough examination, a posture check, and any X rays in the areas where we see postural distortions. Now the X rays will allow us to determine what’s causing a person scoliosis. If we can correct it, how long it will take to correct and if there’s any permanent damage of the spine, that’s uncorrectable.

If we feel that we can help a person with scoliosis, we’ll accept them as a patient, and then we’ll customize a program for them. In our office, we are only one of two spinal corrective chiropractors that have this specialized equipment here in our office that is specialized to help us to correct all kinds of unwanted health and postural distortions of the spine, but especially scoliosis. Why, because when a person gets a scoliosis, it also affects the discs in a negative way, many times bulging or herniated disc. So this equipment right here not only allows us to decompress the spine, which rehydrates the disc, but it also allows us to put the patient in a position that uncurbed their spine so that we’re uncovering the spine at the same time that we’re decompressing it. So what that allows us to do over time is actually correct the scoliosis, the same way that an orthodontist would correct crooked teeth, and that helps the patient to have a vibrant and energetic and a good quality of life, especially as they get older and meet all of their life and health goals.
